First Visit

We’re so excited to welcome you to our office! From the moment you arrive at The Braces Place, we’ll ensure your visit is smooth and stress-free. Please notify our receptionist when you arrive, and we’ll take it from there.

Dr. Dan Pennella will perform a comprehensive orthodontic examination and personally discuss all aspects of treatment with you and your family.

Key Questions We’ll Address During Your Initial Exam

  • Is there an orthodontic issue, and if so, what kind?
  • When is the ideal time to begin treatment?
  • What type of treatment is recommended?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • What are the costs involved?

What’s Next After Your Initial Exam?

If treatment is necessary, we’ll schedule an appointment to gather Diagnostic Records. If time permits, we can often complete these during your first visit.

What Are Diagnostic Records?

Diagnostic records provide the foundation for your personalized treatment plan and include:

  • Models of your teeth.
  • Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, along with tracings.
  • A detailed evaluation by the doctor to determine the best treatment approach.

Understanding Orthodontic Treatment Costs

The cost of treatment depends on the complexity of your orthodontic needs. During your initial visit, our treatment coordinator will review fees and payment options with you. We’re dedicated to making orthodontics accessible, offering flexible payment plans, and working with most insurance providers to fit your budget.

Your Investment Includes:

  • Orthodontic Records: X-rays, study models, and growth analysis tailored to your treatment objectives.
  • Active Treatment Fee: Comprehensive care with braces or clear aligners, including all appliances, office visits, and in-office procedures. Durable appliances are designed to last, provided instructions are followed. Replacement fees may apply for loss or damage.
  • Retainers: One set of final retainers is included for comprehensive (Phase II) patients. Additional retainers may incur a replacement fee if lost or broken.

Your Investment Does Not Include:

  • Work performed by other dental professionals outside our practice.
  • Additional costs for unique circumstances, such as treatment required after an injury that causes TMJ complications or necessitates orthognathic surgery.

Insurance and Benefits

We accept the assignment of benefits for most insurance plans, significantly reducing out-of-pocket expenses. If your plan doesn’t allow assignments, we’re happy to file claims for reimbursement. If there are any changes to your insurance policy, please notify us immediately so we can update your payment agreement accordingly.

Our Office Hours and Commitment to Your Time

We appreciate your time and desire to maintain a smooth schedule. Please arrive on time for your appointment to help us provide prompt care for all patients. During your visit, we will focus on completing necessary procedures, sharing important treatment information, and answering any questions you may have.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us create a seamless experience for everyone!
